SINGLES BIBLE STUDY -
From Fall through Spring, we gather in our church library on the 2nd & 4th Sundays and our meeting time has been changed to 1 pm  starting on December 28.

 Overview of Living Single Series

Do you feel forgotten by God in your singleness? This eight-session course will help you wrestle with the struggles, challenges, and joys of being single. It discusses how to enjoy being single in a couples’ world, reviews the benefits of being single, and considers how singles can embrace and overcome the challenges they face while waiting for marriage. It also looks at how long singles should keep hoping, where the desire for marriage comes from, and what to do with it, and how to stand strong in the face of sexual temptation.

Session One -  A Single’s Guide to God

Do you feel forgotten by God in your singleness?
Hosea 1:2–2:1; 3:1–5; John 14:1–21; Ephesians 6:10–18
This study can’t tell you why you aren’t in a relationship right now, but it can open for you the intimate, glorious, and fulfilling relationship you have now and forever in God.

Session Two - Going Solo

The secret to enjoying being single in a couples’ world.
Genesis 1:27–28; 2:18–24; Romans 12:1–21; 1 Corinthians 6:19–20; 7:32–35; 13:1–13; Philippians 4:4–13
Are singles to be pitied? Is it possible to find joy, fulfillment, and wholeness as a single adult? These are the issues we’ll explore in today’s study.

Session Three - Celebrating the Single Life

What are the benefits of being single?
1 Samuel 18:1–4; 20; Psalm 16; 119:29–32; 131; Ecclesiastes 3:1–8; Mark 1:29–38; 1 Corinthians 7:32–35
We often forget the good things about being single, this study helps us learn to appreciate this special time in our lives.

Session Four - In the Meantime…

How can singles embrace and overcome the challenges they face while waiting for marriage?
Deuteronomy 5:6–21; Romans 12:1–8; 1 Corinthians 6:12–20; Ephesians 5:1–2, 15–17; Philippians 4:4–13
Waiting can be very difficult. This study examines how God has not abandoned you; rather how he is calling you to listen and learn what he wants to teach you in this season of your life.

Session Five - Waiting for a Wedding

How long should singles keep hoping?
Esther 3:1–6; 4:9–16; 8:1–2; Psalm 139:1–18; Mark 9:17–27
Discover how the challenge of remaining optimistic in the face of doubt and disappointment can, in fact, strengthen the dream, deepen faith, and lead to more authentic relationships with others.

Session Six - Longing for Marriage -

Where the desire for marriage comes from, and what to do with it.
Genesis 2:18–24; 22:1–12; 24; Romans 12:1–2
What are we supposed to do with our desire for marriage until we meet the right person? Use this study to better understand this question and what to do with our desires.

Session Seven - Accountability & the Christian Single

Standing strong in the face of sexual temptation.
Galatians 6:1–5; Colossians 3:5–11; 1 Thessalonians 5:12–14; Hebrews 3:12–15; James 5:16–20
Explore the realities of sexual temptation and how to stand strong against it.

Session Eight - Single and Satisfied -

Finding contentment in the single Christian life.
Genesis 2:1–3; 1 Samuel 18:1–4; Psalm 127:1–2; 1 Corinthians 15:40–58; 2 Corinthians 11:23–27; Philippians 4:10–13; 1 Peter 4:7–11
This study helps us understand that contentment isn’t connected to finding a spouse, but rather, to tending to our soul.
