Merry Christmas from SAM's Lambs and Father Lance Robbins

J  E  S  U  S

Cradled in Love, Wrapped in Peace, Born to bring Hope

And the first sound of Christmas was a baby crying

Into a world grown dim
with a sense of hopelessness
When men and women quit dreaming dreams
where the hopes of the young were few

was the sound of a baby crying

Into a world where competition and pride run rampant
when men and women only take care of their own
Divided by abundance and by poverty

was the sound of a baby crying

Where our young are hungry
and true joy so far out of reach

was the sound of a baby crying

Into a world where we proclaim peace, peace on earth
yet terror abounds and there are wars and rumors of wars

was the sound of a baby crying

Into a world of pain, of loss, of uncertainty.
of fear of age, of fear of youth
Wondering who could make sense of suffering
who could take our place
who would share these tears

was the sound of a baby crying

Into a world starved for healing, and hope, and love,
did the Creator draw back the veil of eternity
and touch our earth with his presence,
with his love, with the promise of
healing in His Wings, to ease our pain,
to give us life

If you listen close, you may hear it still
for the first sound of Christmas on that early mom

was the sound of a baby crying

Faithfully,

Lance
