Greetings Lambs, Fall Harvest time is upon us and that means it’s time for Thanksgiving, at least in our companion parish of St. James in the Diocese of Ontario. On Sunday October 10th while most Americans are celebrating Columbus Day weekend, our Canadian friends are celebrating Thanksgiving, and along with my fellow Canadians I will be hosting a sharing dinner, with my family’s traditional goose dinner (if I can find one), for our new Singularity Bible study group. If you’d like to join us – just give us a call at our Hot line 585-872-2281 VM #3. It’s also Convention time at the Diocese and our SAM’s Lambs will have a presence there with a display table to plant some SAM seeds with other Episcopal parishes. So far, besides our local single friends, we have only two singles from two other Episcopal parishes in Rochester attending our meetings, but they want to start a SAM group or something similar in their home parish, so who knows where this little group may grow from here. NEW on our site - Take our Faith poll to help us develop a Singles Spirituality study group. You don't have to be part of the Sunday Spirituality group to give us your input in the poll. On Sunday September 26 we distributed a brief SAM's flyer to everyone in the congregation at Good Shepherd, with a special Redeem-A-Hug and free admission coupon to use at our SAM's meetings. You can get one here if you weren't in church. You can use it for yourself, or give it to a friend, or copy and share with several friends. In case you didn’t get a list of our Fall programs from our Sunday Bulletin insert, here is the list again: Fall Programs - September 2004 through November 2004 Weekly Tuesday night groups 7 – 9 pm: Newcomers & Open/Drop-In – Orientation to what our group is all about and how we operate. First discussion group level for newcomers, or people who cannot commit to a Topic group or who attend infrequently Relationships & Communication – Specific topics, articles or books vary but generally cover talking the same language in relationships – same or opposite genders, parent/child, or work. My sources tell me that we can expect a surprise visit from our own Shepherd on a Tuesday night in October. It’s such a surprise that I’m not even sure which Tuesday night it is, so I guess you’ll have to be there every week to be sure you get to talk with him. Sunday worship with ‘Pew Partners’ 10:15 am – just show up and ask for SAM. Sunday Singularity study & sharing dinner - Starts Sunday October 3rd, hosted in members homes 3pm – until? And using videos, tapes, books, - followed by discussion, dinner, fellowship. Fall video series will be Discovering Everyday Spirituality, with a discussion guide. We will also explore our own faith and religion issues. Social Events & Trips: TGIF or Sat Night outings; Holiday parties, Winter Caribbean cruise, details at meetings, or web site. We’re in the process of forming a Social committee and all socialites are invited to join us. We’re also looking for more single Euchre players, or singles who want to learn to play – in a casual way. Newcomers Mimosa Soiree: By invitation, monthly or quarterly Winter Caribbean Cruise – Jan 31, 2005 – Feb 4, 2005 Cost approximately
