Update April 1, 2006

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

Fund-Raiser March 4th: We held our first public fund raiser on Sat Mar 4th, when SAM's Lambs received the proceeds of a performance of a Broadway Musical Revue at the Stages 3 section of the Auditorium Theater. The performance was very enjoyable and we would highly recommend this event for anyone in the future. Unfortunately our ticket sales were very disappointing. But the Manager of Stages was very kind to us and returned our check for half the sales. He said their aim is to help non-profits and they wanted us to have all the proceeds instead of just half, because of our low sales. Many thanks to Joyce Bowne, our Good Shepherd Vestry contact, for her efforts, without her we'd have had even fewer sales.

Spring Open House, March 7 was also very enjoyable, and if you weren't there you missed a chance to meet some really nice folks, and some deserve special recognition - Bob F. who came all the way from Mt. Morris area; Sam C. who took a Rochester Bus to Phillips Village in Webster and walked about mile to the church from there; and Gene Z. who may know where we can get a FREE big screen TV for our Parish Hall. If that works out we'll be able to do Pizza & Movie nights at the hall instead of paying the high prices at theatres. The seats won't be padded, but some of us are lucky enough to have our own "padding".

It was also nice to meet Rev. Deven Hubert, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church in Fairport, at our Open House. Perhaps her parish will be one of the ones who will begin to host Singles Feasts in the future.
