Update August 1, 2006

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

Webster’s Summer Celebration on July 1st was well named. The Celebration was on Independence day for my homeland – Canada, but probably it was the Skycoasters presence that drew the overflowing crowd to the Fireman’s Field. Their energy spread out over the crowd like electricity and was a great lead-in to the fabulous fireworks display that ended the evening. If you didn’t make it there this year – don’t miss next year’s.

Summer Calendar - Our musical calendar continues with free band concerts – Thursday & Friday nights in Webster

AD HOC – We have spontaneous events that come up when we have get-togethers, like a picnics, concerts, or Sunday afternoon at Connelly’s Cove restaurant to hear the Reflections Band, or a Jamboree at the Moose Lodge. These events will be on our voice mail, if you weren’t present when we made our plans.

Saturday Aug 19, Noon – Newcomers Get-Acquainted picnic brunch at Good Shepherd Parish Hall, Newcomers attend free. Committee Volunteers will meet after our brunch for finalizing of our Kick-Off on Sept 12th, and our 06-07 programs. New/regular members enroll for free until Sept 1st, and as of Sept 1 we will have a $10/yr membership fee which goes towards our free Christmas party and other operating expenses.

COMING –

Sept 1 – 4 – Solo Flight Singles Ministry conference at Kanuga Conference center.  A deposit of $50 needs to be in by Aug 15th, with the balance on check-in at the conference For details of the conference call Betty at 872-2253 or visit our web site.

Tues Sept 12, 7 – 9 pm - Opening night for our new Fall program. We have ads out announcing new groups for singles under age 40. If we get a minimum of 12 under-40 singles we will have groups by age range. If not, then we continue with topic centered groups. We have interesting new plans for the fall and you can get the agenda at our opener on Sept 12, or  find the plan on our site prior to then, or look for it in the article that will be appearing in the September issue of the Episcopal Living Water, our Episcopal Diocese Newspaper.
