Greetings Lambs,

A last minute 'Alert' on happenings with SAM's Lambs:

IN THIS ISSUE

* * 1)  Update on Sunday Singularity gatherings
* * 2)  Future Events
* * 3)  Fund-Raising

1)  Update on Sunday Singularity gatherings
Our first session in a series of four, with Dr. Wayne Dyer's audio CD's, was held on Sunday Jan 8 at my home in Webster. We started with 8 people, and have a few more who couldn't make the first session and will start with the 2nd session. This is not a closed group so people can come in at any point, but may not get the same benefit as those who attend all four. The first session was a general overview that set the theme - believing in yourself, focusing on what YOU want and believing you can really do it. As he said on the tape 'Row, row, row your boat - your OWN boat, not someone else's.

I am using these tapes to help me set some realistic goals, and resolutions, for the New Year, and the group will help keep me accountable in pursuing my goals. Our time is not all serious, and gives us a chance to get to know each other, and share some Risso Therapy too ( healing through humour). At Good Shepherd, exercising our sense of humour with Risso Therapy is 2nd only to feeding our faces.
You are welcome to join us for the next 4 Sunday afternoons at my home in Webster. Please use our contact form, or call our Hot Line voice mail above, or use the phone number in the members email.

2)  Future Events - Coming this month.
Sharing dinner Sat. January 21st, 5:30 - Karaoke anyone?
Our usual Singles Feast - $3 and a dish-to-pass but a suggestion has been made to have Karaoke, and we'd like some feedback on whether you'd like that, and if you have any recommendations on someone who has equipment for this. Advertising will go out this week so a quick response would be appreciated.
Planning meeting - help us plan interesting things to do.
Bring your ideas to a planning meeting, Sat Jan 21st 4:00 pm, prior to our sharing dinner.
Day trips, cruises, Road trips, Community involvement, or anything else that comes to mind.
Newcomers Welcome event - we've had some newcomers in the past few months and will be doing a newcomer's meal - brunch or dinner (our church is really into feeding our faces, but - Jesus DID say - go and feed the people). We need a couple of volunteers to help with that. We'd like to make it a regular event - monthly or quarterly.

3)  Fund-Raising
Sam's Lambs is the beneficiary of a fund-raiser at the Auditorium on Sat March 4th 2:00pm
This is a matinee performance of A Broadway Revue, produced by Stages 2006, a local performance group who assists non-profit groups in raising funds.
Our Episcopal Diocese gave us a grant to start up our group, but our Good Shepherd church does not have a big budget to continue our expenses so this project would be a big benefit for us and allow us to do more, like perhaps discounts for attending the Labor Day Solo Flight conference of Singles Ministries in Kanuga NC, or local discounts for trips and events.
We need help in selling tickets and are looking for people who would commit to selling at least 5 tickets to family, friends or associates. The reward for doing that is half price admission to the performance, but if you sell 9 tickets you get FREE admission. The admission is $20 for adults or $15 for seniors and children.
We are accepting sales, or reservations now and payment later which needs to be in before the March 4th performance date. This is not a Singles Event and is open to anyone who wants to attend, but we would like to get a group of SAM's Lambs together to attend free- from selling tickets, followed by a gathering at a local restaurant or watering hole.
We have posters and flyers to post to help with sales, as well. I will be adapting one to place on our site, and you could print it off to use, or if you can't do that, call me and I will get some to you. These could be used anywhere there is traffic and the establishment allows posting of flyers, like- a church or work or volunteer bulletin board, the library, grocery stores, convenience shops, fitness center, beauty salons, barber shops, your favorite mechanic, and - use your imagination.
If you would like to reserve for yourself, and others, or sign up to help us sell tickets, please use our online registration form or call our Hot Line above or use the number in the members email.

Remember his Command -
'Love One Another, As I Have Loved You' and spread it around.
