Greetings Lambs,

*  A Broadway Musical Revue - Sat Mar 7
We held our first public fund raiser last Saturday afternoon when SAM's Lambs received the proceeds of a performance of a Broadway Musical Revue at the Stages 3 section of the Auditorium.

The performance was very enjoyable and we would highly recommend this event for anyone in the future. Unfortunately I also have to report that our ticket sales were very disappointing. Most of the people in the audience were there from the sales the production company made. But the Manager of Stages, which use their performances as a way to help local non-profits, was very kind to us and returned our check for half the sales, as we had not sold many tickets and did not make much money. He said their aim is to help non-profits and they wanted us to have all the proceeds instead of just half, because of our low sales.

I'm not sure if we will attempt to take advantage of their offer next year when they do the next production next January, but those of us who saw the show this year, will definitely be returning next year.     If you weren't there, you missed a lot of fun.

Spring Open House Tuesday March 8:
Our Open House on March 7 was also very enjoyable, and again, if you weren't there you missed a chance to meet some really nice folks. I was concerned that there might not be ANYBODY at the meeting, as our church voice mail system was on the fritz and people couldn't get through in response to our Ads and Community Calendar announcements, but we had about a dozen people.

A few people from the meeting deserve special recognition - Bob F. who came the farthest - all the way from Mt. Morris area; Sam C. who took a Rochester Bus from Rochester to Phillips Village in Webster and walked about mile to the church from there; and Gene Z. who may know where we can get a free big screen TV for our Parish Hall. If that works out we'll be able to do Pizza & Movie nights at the hall instead of paying the high prices at movie theatres. The seats won't be padded like the movie theatres, but some of us are lucky enough to have our own "padding".  Gene was also kind enough to give Sam a ride back to Rochester as they are in the same general neighborhood.

It was also nice to meet Rev. Deven Hubert, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal church in Fairport.  Perhaps her parish will be one of the ones who will begin to host Singles Feasts in the future. My compliments to whomever created and maintains their web site:

I was very glad to see they are using Via Media for their Adult Education, a program that Good Shepherd will be starting in a few weeks for our community, including SAM's Lambs.

If you weren't at the Open House you can view the "propaganda" ( coming events, group description, etc.) hand outs from the meeting online:

*  Social Committee meeting Sunday March 12:
We will be gathering at Rhea Harvey's on Sunday March 12 at 2pm, to plan some social events for April through June. We'd like to see you there, with your ideas, but if you can't make it, send your ideas by email, or call our voice mail 872-2281 vm # 3, (it's working now!) For directions, call our Voice mail or email me back.

Have a good weekend and remember his Command -
'Love One Another, As I Have Loved You' and spread it around.
