What You Missed:
** Women, Men & The Bible by Viriginia Ramey
Mollencott.
We held our Introductory meeting for our faith based discussion on 'Women,
Men & The Bible' on Tuesday April 18. We will have two more sessions
on May 16 and June 20. At present we have 10 people signed up but we have
room for more if you would like to join us. Father Lance will be leading
these sessions so you know we will have worthwhile discussions and lively
debate. The book is available for $5. or you can borrow one from our
library. Call our message center 872-2281 Voice Mail #3 or just show up at
any Tuesday night meeting to get enrolled. A summary of the book is on our
site.
* * Singles Feast: We postponed our monthly feast from
the 3rd Saturday, which was on Easter weekend, to the 4th Saturday. That
may have been what caused our attendance to be lower than usual, but it
didn't dampen our spirits in the slightest. Father Lance would have rated
this one a definite A++ on the meal, and we even picked up some new Risso
Therapy we'll share with him the next time he appears (er, attends).
* * MAY Calendar: Details for events will also be on our
Hot Line.
* Tuesdays, 7 - 9 pm discussion groups. The 3rd Tues discussions are led
by Father Lance.
* Friday nights- dine in/out - locations vary, so call our Hot Line for
details
* May 13-14 trip to Ottawa Canada's Tulip Festival. This is Mother's Day
weekend so let's treat ourselves. All single mothers AND fathers are
invited, or anyone born of a mother.
* Sat May 20 - Rochester Lilac Festival. Details to follow
* May 27 - May 28- Memorial weekend picnic at Andrwa Stone's home -
bring a dish-to-pass, a lawn chair, and of course a smile.
Make sure you read the announcement about
Solo Flight Labor Day weekend conference at Kanuga Conference Center
in Henderson NC. This conference was the inspiration for the founding of
our own Singles Ministry. I will be attending and I am looking for
others who would not only like to receive information and training in
Singles Ministry, but get to meet the most positive, spiritual, fun-loving
singles and single priests you would ever want to meet, outside of Good
Shepherd.

At Solo Flight we get to make friends from across the country and to
share ideas on reaching singles in our community and welcoming them to our
Singles Ministry and church
