Update July 1,  2007

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

Our Tues night discussion groups are suspended for the summer, but we’ve been even busier as we attended various free band concerts, and picnics and card games in our homes. Our next big event to attend is this Saturday June 30th for Webster’s Summer celebration, and to enjoy the Skycoasters. (Sometimes it’s so hard being single :)

Our Bible Study continues on the 2nd and 4th Sat mornings, with Father Lance providing enlightenment from the Bible for Dummies. We had considered doing our Bible Study at North Ponds Park in the summer but decided to stay with our Library gatherings – where it’s cool. Like typical Episcopalians, we finish up Bible Study with lunch/brunch at a local restaurant.

Check our VM for spur of the moment events that come up - trips, picnics, etc.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: As a regular at church, you’ve probably seen that announcement before. We are growing – slowly but surely, and after the D&C news we may grow even more. In Sept we’ll need more volunteers for our discussions or planning committees, which are also another way to build friendships. You don’t have to be a professional, just friendly and willing. Call our VM and leave your name and # for details.

SOCIAL CALENDAR: (For details/carpool, leave your name & phone # on VM )

Our July calendar is now available, and over the summer we will have many possibilities for fun and fellowship, like picnics, day trips, card parties, and free band concerts on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.   To join us or carpool to a location, leave your name and phone # on our voice mail above.

COMING IN SEPTEMBER:

An Episcopal singles conference is held over Labor Day at Kanuga Conference center in Hendersonville NC.  Father Lance Robbins and Betty Van Volkenburg will be attending and you are welcome to join them, for a most enjoyable weekend of workshops and fellowship with a great group of single priests and lay people.
