Update November 1, 2007

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

Tuesday Groups: Fall discussion groups resumed on Tuesday Sept 18, and in September we used Barbara Sher's audio tapes - Dare To Live Your Dream. In October we started our new series - Healing Through Humour, with a video of Norman Cousins in The Healing Force where he described how he healed his very serious illness with Humour and Vitamin C. We will continue with videos and materials with a humour theme through the end of December.

Social Events: We celebrated Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday October 8 at the home of Betty Van Volkenburg, our resident Canuck, with the traditional Thanksgiving meal [without the traditional Canadian Libation :) ] and our usual samplings of Risso Therapy. October will be closed out with a Hallowe'en celebration too, after this update is written, so I can't report back on who looked the spookiest.

Special Interest Groups: We're still working on our new Music, Book, and Sports groups. Our single sports will get together on Sun afternoons to watch the Bills, and also attend an occasional Amerks hockey game too.
If you would like to be part of our Music group, or other interest group, please sign up on Tuesday nights or call our voice mail number above.

Healing Ministry - On Sat Oct 20th we attended our first Healing session of a new Healing Ministry at Good Shepherd. It was led by Penny Somerset a very knowledgeable leader who is also skilled in Healing Touch Techniques. We have 5 people from our SAM's Lambs who are participating in the Healing sessions and more are welcome if you wish to attend. We will share what we learn at our Tuesday night discussions too so others can decide if they want to join us in this very interesting and worthwhile ministry.

Bible Study:
Sat Oct 27th
Father Lance gave a presentation on The Spirituality of Singularity.
Coming:
Sat Nov 10th 11:00 am
- Bible Study using Bible For Dummies.
Sat Nov 17th 11:00 am - Our usual 4th Sat Bible Study is moved up from Nov 24 due to the Thanksgiving weekend. For future meetings we will use Bible For Dummies on the 2nd Sat morning and then on the 4th Saturdays - videos or DVDs followed by discussion.

Winter Planning meeting - Postponed from Sat Nov 17th to Sat Dec 8th - after Bible Study: We will meet to plan our winter sessions, with Father Lance Robbins and our Vestry contact - Joyce Bowne. To participate or offer suggestions for our SAM's Lambs group, please call our VM above or use our contact form.

Our calendar is now online as well - (call our voice mail to verify event, time, location, and directions)   You can view our online calendar by clicking on our Scroll newsletter link on the home page or use this link:

Saturday Nov 3, 7 pm: Euchre with Good Shepherd players in our Parish Hall
Saturday Nov 17   6:30 pm - The Dish-to-pass sharing dinner we had planned for our Parish Hall has been cancelled, as we decided to make it a home party instead, just for members this time. You may sign up in our Tuesday night discussions or through our voice mail number - above.
