Update September 1, 2007

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

We've spent our summer at as many free band concerts as we could find, in Webster, Fairport, Perinton, Ontario, Williamson and Rochester. Webster was chosen SportTownUSA by Sports Illustrated but I think our town should also be called MusicTownUSA too, with all the free music that's available all summer.

I hope you didn't miss any of it, if you did then make sure you stay in touch next year when we repeat our summer schedule of fun and fellowship.

Can you believe it - it's September already!!

Our Fall Open House is scheduled for Tuesday September 11, at 7 pm in our Parish Hall, where singles can meet 'n mingle and get information on our programs for 2007-2008. Father Lance Robbins will open our gathering with a Welcome address (and risso therapy), and a representative from each of our committees will explain what their duties are, and invite newcomers to join them to help plan for the groups and to build friendships too.

Our Tuesday night discussion will be using Barbara Sher's audio tapes or DVDs. Barbara is a very inspiring leader and in the past we have had very interesting discussions and learning with her tapes.

You can see information on her at http://www.barbarasher.com

We will also be having Speakers, at least once a quarter, on topics suggested by our membership, like spirituality, health, finance, or relationships. If you would like to be part of a fellowship group to offer fun, fellowship and supportive community to unmarried people, please come to our Open House, or call our voice mail and leave your contact information. We are also setting up new committees - Membership, Social, Facilitators, and Community Involvement. Our committees are another way to grow friendships and have fun.

We will also be adding interest groups:

* Music group for people who play instruments, or to do sing-alongs at our Feasts, or home parties.

* Book Club - read a book a month and meet monthly to share a discussion.

Our Bible Study group will resume October 14, as September's calendar has Father Lance booked with other events. Our first meeting on will be a discussion of possible materials we can use, like books, DVDs, etc.

If you are unmarried, for any reason, please join us for fun and fellowship - you don't have to be alone. Our members are from various churchs, our marital status varies from never married, to divorced, or widowed, and our ages span 30 through 81, but we do have more women than men. Where are all the men?!

We have some great cooks - so come and join us. We won't make you dance if you don't want to.

September CALENDAR:
(call our voice mail to verify event, time, location, and directions)

Because September is our opening month we do not have a definite social calendar set up, and will announce those events in our meetings, on our site, or on our voice mail when our new social committee has them set up. But we will probably continue with our monthly Feast - sharing dinner starting in October, as well as singles dances, movies, theatre, dining out, house parties, trips and anything else we want to do.

'with gladness and singleness of heart'  ,
