Update February 1,  2007

Greetings Lambs,

What You Missed:

Our winter Tuesday night discussion group Love, Sex and Lasting Relationships is now underway and is a good follow on to our Fall sessions on Building Healthy Relationships. Chip Ingram who wrote the book and the course, is the speaker on the DVDs, and is a very inspiring and motivating speaker. He is President & CEO at www.walkthru.org  and you can also hear him at http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/living_on_the_edge

The group is a closed group but we will be having an Open Group for those not able to attend regularly, or prefer not to be in our closed group, with one stipulation – we will need to have at least 4 in the open group to guarantee our facilitator.

Our Bible Study continued on the 2nd and 4th Sat mornings, with Father Lance providing more new information about the Bible, and explaining our Epiphany celebrations and the scoop on those 3 “Wise Men/Kings”. We always spend a little more time than we expected, as our discussions become lively and informative, and then we continue over lunch at a local restaurant.

Our Monthly Feast was on the 27th, after the writing of the newsletter so there is no report on that, but I can prophesize that a good time will be had by all and we will probably chat and laugh the evening away until around 10 pm as usual.

CALENDAR:

View online at http://my.calendars.net/samslambscal/  or a link from our home page.

Friday/Saturday night out - planned in our weekly chat meetings – to a local restaurant, theatre, singles dance or Rochester Ballroom – get details at meetings or on our voice mail.

Feb 2nd 9pm - Singles Dance – join us in celebrating Ground Hog day at a local singles dance at the Green Lantern. Some of us are going for a fish fry before the dance so call our Hot Line to be included or sing up at a Tuesday meeting.

FEB 6 – First Tuesday event - An informational gathering for newcomers to learn about our Singles Ministry through an Open Group

Feb 9th 8:00 pm - Gospel Fest at RIT - free event.  We need to arrive at the parking lot by 7:15 in order to get a good parking place, and a good seat.

We actually have other social events for February but our church mouse made off with the notes, so you’ll have to call our Hot Line to get the details, or come to our Tuesday meetings or our sharing dinner and find out there.

COMING:

Via Media, The Middle Way – Good Shepherd is planning an ongoing series of Videos & discussions on Christianity in general and Episcopal faith in particular. This will be open to anyone seeking answers to questions on Christianity. In our church – questions ARE allowed, AND answered. Watch for details soon.

Singles Trip - A spring trip is being planned to Branson Mo, with maybe a stopoff in Kentucky. Sign up at our Open House to received updates.

Reminder - Solo Flight Singles Conference – Labor Day – I know Labor Day is a long way off, but start saving now so you can attend. It is a gathering of unmarried Single Episcopalians, and friends from other churches, from all across the U.S.
